URC Votes For Same-Sex Marriage

Attitudes to Homosexuality in Churches in the UK are changing rapidly. The United Reform Church became the largest body in the country to permit same-sex marriage after an overwhelming 240-21 vote at its 2016 General Assembly in Southport.

The Scottish Episcopal Church, a sister denomination of the Church of England, looks set to give the final approval to marriage equality at its 2017 Synod next year; their process takes several years for any major change.
